One Yarn And A Lunerlon... Nike Flyknit One
A couple weeks ago during the Nike Women's Marathon in San Francisco, I had the pleasure of getting a first hand look at the new Nike Flyknit One. Coming out in February of 2013, these babies have new advancements such as a new lunarlon sole and some beautiful colorways. And great news, many of those great color ways are available for the ladies! Check out the photos on the left. Let's recap. The flyknit technology uses just one thread or yarn to construct the entire upper. The ENTIRE UPPER! Still blows my mind. This engineering provides the ability to literally create a shoe so comfortable to the different grooves of your feet and super light weight. Not only that, but the technology also provides for a huge decrease in wasted material compared to traditional shoe making; call it "being green" if you will. Check out "The Story Behind Flyknit Technology."
For this new generation of Flyknit One's, we see a new look with the lunarlon sole with that awesome cushioning. I went for a run in them and felt the breathability and lightness. My favorite part? The flyknit is a superior running shoe that easily bridges the gap between fashion and running footwear. I would rock them out any day!
I had the honor of speaking with Rob Williams, one of the designers on the Flyknit One's, and after I did my raves and rants and a wonderful round of Q&A, I can hint you readers this. We are in a time when men love women's color ways, and women love men's color ways, and on that note Nike has noticed and we have A LOT to look forward to. Yeah!
